Mark Your Calendars!



Be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday June 4, 2011 for The Penny McHenry Hydrangea Festival! The festival market will be starting at 9am-5pm with free admission. There will be live entertainment, food, and vendors offering plants, fine arts, antiques, jewelry and much more!
A Standard Flower Show will be open to the public starting at 12pm-5pm in the gorgeous rotunda of The New Courthouse. If you are interested in entering the flower show, drop off for plants will begin on Friday June 3rd at 1pm-6pm, ONLY cut perishable blooms will be accepted on Saturday morning from 7am-9am. There is also a table scape design division as well.
Daytime Garden Tours will begin at 9am-5pm, tickets are $25.00 per person. Gardens are located in various areas throughout the county. There will be shuttles available departing from The New Courthouse. We have had some spectacular gardens in years past. You can go here to see a sample of the gardens that have been on tour in the past. Most of these gardens are nationally recognized and featured magazines such as Southern Living.
We also have Display Gardens from 9am-5pm with free admission. These are idea gardens that are created by nationally published and award winning garden designers.
Saturday Evening we have the Moonlight and Magnolias progressive dinner beginning at 6pm-10pm, tickets $50.00 per person, limited availability. Explore three enchanting gardens at twilight while enjoying hors d oeurves, and main course and desserts. These gardens are different from the daytime tour. Proceeds from this tour benefit the Douglas County Museum of History & Art.
Sunday June 5, 2011, festival market 1pm-5pm free admission, standard flower show 1pm-5pm free admission, daytime garden tours (same gardens as Saturday) 1pm-5pm tickets $25.00 per person, display gardens 1pm-5pm free admission.
